The Grand Opening of ASER Park

The first ever modern community park built by ASER Construction plc in the heart of Addis Ababa has been officially inaugurated on Saturday January 21, 2017 in the presence of ranking government officials including H.E. Diriba Kuma, Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration.


It is noted that ASER Construction has inked an agreement with Bole Sub City Beautification, Park and Cemetery Administration and Development Agency to construct the green park in light of beautification of the area and for the public use.


During the inaugural ceremony, welcoming the guests, ASER Construction PLC General Manager, Eng. Yemane Abreha addressed an opening remark saying that the company has been hugely carrying out the construction of projects meant to public purpose along with the construction business the company engaged over years. “We built the park as part of our corporate social responsibility and to contribute from what the company has to the public,” he said.
Adding that, the park will greatly contribute to the City’s beautification efforts and it is specially designed to have drawings and sculptures featuring the cultures of African countries as the park is located at the African Avenue and close to the African Union headquarter.


Present on the ceremony, heads of Addis Ababa City Beatification, Park and Cemetery Administration and Development Agency and Bole Sub City Administration each addressed remarks and hails the efforts made by ASER Construction PLC.
Officially launching opening of the Park, Honorable Diriba Kuma Mayor of Addis Ababa City, delivers inaugural address mentioning the significance of the park in contributing to a livable and sustainable urban environment to the city and extends his gratitude to ASER Construction PLC and other stake holders engaged in developing the green park.


Artist and Environmental Advocator Sileshi Demise (Gash Abera Molla) has honored the ceremony besides Police Marsh Band.


The 6,064 m2 two winged ASER Park is built by investing 15 million birr on the main Bole road, creatively utilizing the space under the Karamara bypass. These two winged green space public facility along with the African Avenue will provide different outdoor recreational services, public toilet and showers, kid’s playground, reading and relaxation benches and interactive fountains.
