LEGEDADI PHASE II WATER SUPPLY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT REACHES 26%

ASER was granted a contract from Addis Ababa and Sewerage Authority & Sanitation Development project office to supply and install pipes and fittings, transmission, main reservoir, collector line, access roads including civil works from the well field to Legedadi phase II water supply construction project on April 19, 2019, to construct in the sum of 516,829,177.17 birr. The main works of the project pipe supply & installation. Accordingly, the source of water located Oromia national regional state Legetaffo Legedadi. Ethiopian Construction Design & Supervision Works corporation Water & Energy & Supervision Works Sector taking the consulting responsibility.

Currently, ongoing activities describes laying 200-1000 diameter DCI,72 km collector pipes line well fields (16 Boreholes), Construction of ground-level reinforced concrete reservoirs of capacity 2000M3 (LC1) and 5000 (LC2) M3 collection tank around Dira dam, associated civil work, and booster stations. over all the project 86000 M3 water produce & provide for Addis Ababa city. In addition, construct access road for surrounding community around Legedadi near to the dump downstream.

Side by side, it creates a job opportunity for temporary 94 and permanent 28 workers. further, expects to eliminate the lack of safe & wholesome water in the capital city of Addis Ababa city. Currently, the project status reaches 26 %.
